We’ve been celebrating National Nursing Home Week in style, filling our days with laughter, music, and heartwarming moments shared between residents, families, and our dedicated staff. Boot Scootin’ Seniors Light Up the Dance Floor!
We kicked off our week with a truly unforgettable performance by the Boot Scootin’ Seniors! Their talent and energy were infectious, bringing so much joy and excitement to Jefferson Park. This amazing senior line dancing group not only wowed us with their incredible moves but also with their kindness and warmth. They even managed to get our very own John David on his feet for a dance – a moment that brought smiles to everyone’s faces! We’re still talking about their performance and hope they’ll come back for an encore soon. Thank you, Boot Scootin’ Seniors, for making our day so special!
“Rhythm at the Park” Concert Strikes a Chord!
The celebrations continued with our beautiful “Rhythm at the Park” concert. Families, staff, and residents gathered to enjoy the uplifting sounds of bluegrass and gospel music. The air was filled with joy as everyone swayed to the rhythm, shared laughter, and created cherished memories together. To add to the sweetness of the occasion, we enjoyed cotton candy, candy bars, and a variety of other sweet treats! A heartfelt thank you to the talented musicians who poured their hearts into their performance, touching each and every one of us. We are so grateful for these precious moments with our wonderful community.
Karaoke Fun with Lynda and Friends!
As the week went on, the fun didn’t stop! We had an absolute blast with karaoke, hosted by the amazing Lynda from Spot Lyte Entertainment. Lynda always brings so much joy and energy to our community, and this visit was no exception! We were also thrilled to have Jesse Ramsey from Smoky Mountain Hospice join in the singing fun. Jesse is a regular and much-appreciated visitor who brightens our residents’ week with music and crafts. A big thank you also goes to Norma from Regency Retirement Village for serving up delicious Coke floats that our residents absolutely loved! It was another fantastic day filled with laughter and camaraderie at Jefferson Park!
Field Day Fun, Rain or Shine!
Even a little rain couldn’t dampen our spirits for Field Day! When the weather decided to change its plans, we simply moved the festivities indoors to the dining room – and it was a huge success! Cloth frisbees soared through the air, we had a lively cornhole competition, a fun football toss, and so much more. The sounds of laughter echoed through the halls as residents and staff engaged in friendly competition and created lasting memories together. It was a fantastic reminder that fun can be had anywhere, as long as you have good company and a positive attitude!
