About Jefferson Park
Jefferson Park has a rich history of serving our Jefferson County and East Tennessee communities with unparalleled compassionate care.
Dating back to 1933 on 283-acre farm with a building constructed to accommodate the poor, Jefferson Park has a tradition of taking care of the sick and elderly. In 1968, Jefferson County applied for and was granted the Hill-Burton Grant allowing for the construction of the first nursing home in the area. The next year, the nursing home, then called Jefferson County Nursing Home, welcomed its first nine residents.
Over the next few years, our community and facility grew to 103 beds for residents. By the mid-1990s, we had over 130 beds for residents.
Jefferson Park continues to hold true to our commitment to compassionate care of our elders and residents by expanding our services and practices to ensure we continue to provide a valued service to our community. This has included renovating facilities, upgrading technologies and equipment, adding services such as short-term care and rehabilitation and therapy, and more.
One big addition to our service options was the introduction of our Green House Homes in 2010. Jefferson Park was the first facility in the state of Tennessee to provide care in the Green House Home environment, a living style that significantly improves the quality of life for our residents. Our Green Houses provide homelike surroundings through private rooms and bathrooms for the elders living there.
Fast forward to today. Jefferson Park is fortunate to give care at two locations: Dandridge and White Pine. Our Dandridge location offers a more traditional skilled nursing care environment at our legacy center but also has 3 Green Houses located up the hill from the legacy center. While our White Pine location is Green House care only.
Combined our locations can serve 170+ elders with compassion care ranging from long-term care to short-term care, as well as respite and rehabilitation and therapy. Our vision is to be the leader in person-centered care while growing relationships and honoring the community we serve, and we’re proud to continue to make that happen each day with each person who enters our doors.
